Awesome Single Bucket Cyclone Dust Collector (Thien Baffle Design)
Просмотров 29 тыс.2 года назад
This is my take on the Thien Baffle design for a single bucket dust collector. I've used this dust collector in my home workshop (small apartment) for the past 6 months, and I'm very happy with it! It collects successfully almost all saw dust, fine particles and wood shaving, and clogged only once in this entire time. I plan to make some improvements such as anchoring the bucket to a stable sur...

Stanley no. 81 Cabinet Scraper - happy restoration with friends!

This is a Stanley 81 cabinet scraper, probably from before 1920. this model was manufactured between 1909 and 1942, but the text on the screw suggests it was made before 1920, when the Stanley Rule & Level company merged with Stanley Works. it originally came with a rosewood base, but it was probably replaced with a simple stained pine block. the chrome plating is in bad shape, so I decided to ...

Was able to repair my own receiver. Having the proper tools and experience is a must have, of course. Have a 30 gauge stripper, quality solder. flux, magnifying lamp, ect. tried using hot glue and super glue, after soldering, without any luck, so I just stuck to using proper size shrink tubing and will be careful from now on. Pull domes and traps only when holding the receiver, not the receiver wire. Cheers! 🍻 P.S. I was able to get a nice replacement receiver for my "Phonak" from Amazon for $60. But now I have an emergency backup. Thanks.

@@MrGreenMakesStuff Thanks. A plane collector channel Just Plane Fun replied to me yesterday and said that it was nickel. There's a tremendous video by Clickspring about how to electroplate nickel at home if you're interested. He uses a fancy set-up, but I have heard of pretty good results using a phone charger, so the only cost is buying a small bar of nickel as an anode. I'm tempted to give it a go, so I'll have to go hunting for a plane! Keep well.

Currently taking a swing at this rn. Mine has 2 more conditions. Built in fold out triple monitors, IE one solid one and one that hinges off of each side of that. Similar the the one DIY Perks Built. Also, just for fun I want to retain as much waterproofing as possible. In other words once it's closed up for storage.. it's sealed. Still early stages, but keeping everything (IO and such) on the inside is definitely challenging. I may just come up with an outer panel compartment that has it's own sealed door. Sorta like outdoor power outlets. I used a slightly bigger and beefier case. A hard gun case.

Sorry for the late reply. There wasn't any performance downgrade, but I wouldn't recommend the plastic bin anymore. It tends to collapse when the vacuum head is blocked. I'd use a metal bin instead, and I plan to rebuild it for this reason. Also, the plastic is a little too light which throws the bucket off balance. Make sure to secure it well. Thanks for watching!

I have unitron moxi fit hearing aids and as of yesterday, both left and right receiver wires have broken but the wires are still connected. Worst case, I'll use my soldering iron and look around for similar tubing since I only have automotive grade/ size stuff on hand. If you could find clear self sealing heat shrink of the same size as your tubing, you can use that instead of hot glue. The legit replacement wires are extremely pricey for what they are at $50-70 a wire for 2xP.
